I created a post in December about ditching resolutions and aiming for 100 Epic Fails in 2025.

I told my mom about the post and my intention to create my 2025 Epic Fail Plan.
She asked, “Why would someone plan to fail?” Our conversation inspired this blog post.
I learned about the 100 Epic Fail plan from Brooke Castillo of The Life Coach School. Brooke Castillo also teaches the concept of Impossible Goals - which perfectly pairs with the 100 Epic Fails concept.
In this post, I will unpack both of these ideas and share why they are game-changes. I will also discuss where I am in my 2025 "Epic Fail Journey."
Impossible Goals
Before we talk failure, let's start with the bigger picture—Impossible Goals.
✨An Impossible Goal is simple but bold—it’s a goal that feels completely beyond your current capabilities. Not the “slightly out of reach” goals you can achieve by tweaking your existing routine, but the kind that requires you to stretch in ways that feel...well, impossible.
Why aim for something you don’t believe you can achieve? It’s because pursuing Impossible Goals fundamentally shifts who you are BEING in the process.
Here’s why Impossible Goals are so powerful:
They require transformation. You’ll need to think, feel, and act differently to pursue these goals. Expect to grow, learn new skills, and enter spaces that feel uncomfortable.
They involve intentional failure. Attempting something impossible means failure is inevitable—and that’s part of the plan. You rewire your mind to process and approach rejection, fear, and uncertainty differently.
They deliver strategic byproducts. Setting an impossible goal is NOT about achieving the goal; it is about who you are BEING and who you BECOME in attempting to reach the Impossible Goal. It is also about strategic byproducts/ unintentional wins like new opportunities, relationships, and insights that will spring up along the way. (also bonus is when you achieve the goal!!)
100 Epic Fails
The magic in setting Impossible Goals is you don’t know how to reach them when you set them (that is what makes them impossible).
You won’t know the HOW until you reach the goal. This is where the fun and the discomfort begin :)
Brooke Castillo recommends trial and error to figure out the HOW. She suggests using the scientific method to reach your Impossible Goal.
You set the goal, develop a hypothesis for achieving it, and experiment repeatedly to see what works.
This experimentation is the essence of your 100 Epic Fails plan.
✨ The idea seems simple, but it can be life-changing:
Count your attempts, not just your wins. Making 100 Epic Fails part of your plan means you prioritize action over perfection. Every rejection and mistake becomes data—not a reason to quit.
Build emotional resilience. The focus isn’t on success but on showing up, even amidst fear, rejection, or uncertainty. This deepens your relationship with "uncomfortable" emotions, retraining your brain to feel them and learn from them and not to avoid, numb out, or react to the “uncomfortable” emotions.
Stay creative and playful. Aiming for 100 fails forces you to think bigger, get creative, and be bolder. This helps to get you out of perfectionism, procrastination, and keeping yourself small.
This approach is freeing. It helps me to create a new relationship with failure, rejection, and mistakes. It reminds me that failures are necessary for success. With every failure, I will learn and grow stronger.
Why 100?
100 is a playful yet intentional way to hold myself accountable to keep going.
When we aim for something impossible, it’s tempting to stop after the first few rejections or setbacks. By setting the intention to aim for 100 fails, the goal becomes less about the one big win and more about engaging fully in the process.
Imagine this—you make a big move, fail, regroup, and try again 99 more times. How different might your self-trust, creativity, and problem-solving skills look by the 100th attempt?
Updates on My Journey
I’m all in on this concept of Impossible Goals and 100 Epic Fails.
❤ I’ve set an Impossible Goal for my career and business (Life, Sex, Love and Intimacy Coaching) though I still need to fully map out my hypothesis and my 2025 Epic Fail Plan.
In my next post, I will share my 100 Epic Fail Plan for my career and business (hoping to share this by the end of February)
❤ I would also like to apply this to love and intimacy, but I am unsure how to apply it to that part of my life. There is something powerful in approaching this part of my life in a way that focuses on who I am BEING in the process and does not make it about the OUTCOME. I will explore this more in future posts (most likely in March!)
